I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
