Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet rescued four initial opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
